RATIONALE 1
Personal learnings when doing/analyzing your own test
The process of developing assessment includes more than just a paper-of-course test. Unfortunately, in this task I missed the "letter format" required that includes a conversational tone to support validity to my instrument.
After analyzing my test and taking into consideration the obtained feedback, I have to focus on the following pieces of advice to improve my test designing:
a. Add more context in instructions to help students make predictions on the questions and visualize the purpose and use of the target language.
b. Be aware of the type of answers requested on certain exercises (Inf. questions or yes/no questions) to prevent confusion and facilitate an effective interpretation in students.
c. Include pictures to make contexts more comprehensible and for more authentic and communicative purposes.
e. Scan the test through the cornerstones of testing.
Finally, this task was particularly rewarding since it provided important imput to my teaching improvement as a whole, not only for test designing.
